Over the past three weeks, Access Self Storage stores from across the nation have been receiving Easter egg donations on behalf of a number of charities.
So far the donations have been eggscellent and notable mentions go to:
  • Access Self Storage, Northampton collecting over 154 eggs for the Northamptonshire County Council Adoption Team
  • Access Self Storage, Manchester collecting over 100 eggs for the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust
Access Self Store Northampton, Store Manager, Robert Samuel.

A big thank you to every person or organisation who has donated to this wonderful cause. We are still hoping for an eggstra push at the following stores to achieve that lucky 100 eggs: Acton, Boston Manor and Ealing (for Acton Homeless Concern), Coventry ( for Tiny Tim’s Children’s Centre), Cricklewood (for The Children’s Society), Derby (for Rainbow Children’s Hospice), Kingston (for Kingston Food Bank), Portsmouth (for Rowan’s Hospice), Selly Oak (for Queen Elizabeth Hospital Charity), Southampton (for Rainbow’s Centre), Sunbury (for The Friends of Hounslow Portage) and Sutton (for Sweets for Life).
Last year the Access Self Storage stores collected over 500 eggs from 11 stores. Click hereto read more or go to https://twitter.com/access4newsor
https://www.facebook.com/AccessStorage.co.uk.
And that’s all yolks.

Proving that self storage can live up to its name, Golden Goose PR together with our clientAccess Self Storage launched a social media campaign this week with a short film showing two python-suited female contortionists Pixie Le Lott and Oohla Lowri cavorting in a 6ft locker.

Apparently, they’re not the most unusual item stored. The company cites live fish, cut grass and 1,000 right foot shoes as their most bizarre requests.

Already over 20 pieces of coverage for our Access Christmas campaign

Only 61 days until Christmas! But already Golden Goose PR is racking up the coverage for our client, Access Self Storage, which launched its Christmas campaign this month.

We’ve been asking communities across the UK to get into the festive spirit a little early, by donating new and unused presents, games and toys to the Access Self Storage Christmas Collection in aid of the Children’s Society.

Access Self Storage has created special drop-off points in its stores, where gifts will be collected and delivered in time for Christmas to local Children’s Society shops.

GGPR will reveal the surprises behind the door as part of the official countdown to Christmas on the first of December.

The Children’s Society works with and supports some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people in the UK, who really need help at Christmas. Gifts that are donated will raise funds for often overlooked young people such as runaways and carers, and provide support for families of young children who live in poverty.

In 2011, Access Self Storage collected 5,000 toys for charity and even received donations of signed boxes of ‘fashion Barbies’ from couture designer Julien MacDonald.

Access Self Storage spokesperson Kevin Pratt said: “For 2012 we’re aiming to beat our Christmas Collection record and can’t wait to invite local guests to unlock our doors in December. There’s a rumour we may even get a hand from Father Christmas.”

Happy Christmas – and what a year!

What a year 2011 has been!

We started off freezing in the January rain, working alongside ActionAid to create the world’s first ‘Happy Bubble’, a place where the best things in life were given freely to passers-by, alongside giant plasmas playing footage of the life saving work that the charity does in the developing world. Together with our survey, which revealed the things that truly make us happy, we achieved wipe out national broadsheet and tabloid coverage and quite a few radio interviews. We’re proud to say that we were chosen to be featured in PR Week’s Campaigns of 2011 (at news-stands right now!) for this very successful integrated communications strategy.

March saw us manning the media room at WOW, the inaugural Women of the World festival at London’s Southbank Centre. We were excited to be working with Annie Lennox, Kate Nash, Paloma Faith and VV Brown. Thank you to Grazia, the Daily Mirror, Radio 4 and Marie Claire for some great press support.

As spring and the Royal Wedding approached, we were delighted to learn that our jewellery client Robinson Pelham had been asked to design a collection of jewellery for HRH the Duchess of Cambridge to wear on her wedding day. The pieces they created are now recognised all over the world, and our invitation to comment on the wedding live from the media centre at Buckingham Palace meant that we had the ear of the most influential global media. It was a day we’ll definitely not forget in a hurry!

As summer set in, we had to fire fight for online dating client, BeautifulPeople.com, which once more had to cull members who didn’t belong on the site. The decision to remove 30,000 ‘shreks’ went viral – for the third time in twelve months, the site was featured across global news platforms, from tv and radio to websites and blogs.

Our campaign brought us to the attention of Pussy 100% Natural Energy Drinks, who were gearing up for a global launch with investment from Holly and Sam Branson.

This announcement received over 3,000 pieces of online coverage and a great piece in the Sunday Times. Here’s what we got up to with the Bransons and Jonnie Shearer at the Kensington Roof Gardens one blustery autumn day!

On the 21st of September, it was peace day. Golden Goose PR manned the press office leading up to the event, and the media room at the O2 Arena for the live Peace One Day concert. Broadsheet, radio, showbiz and entertainment media gave us a great show and helped us launch the countdown to the first ever global truce day: the date for your diaries is 21st September 2012.

Towards the end of the summer, we worked with the late, great Gerald Laing; the British pop artist whose striking portraits of Brigitte Bardot and Amy Winehouse are instantly recognisable throughout the world. Gerald was planning his Amy Winehouse tribute exhibition at Thomas Gibson Fine Art in Mayfair. Thank you to Aidan Radnedge at Metro for featuring the exhibition so prominently. We were very sad to hear only a month later that Gerald, aged 75, had passed away. It is a huge honour to us that we worked on what turned out to be his last exhibition.

October and November also came with heart warming projects; firstly for the British Red Cross, to create and man the world’s first ‘Food Insecurity Market’ (we simultaneously contained a front page news crisis for our client Jani-King live from Spitalfields) and then for the European launch of mothers2mothers, an incredible charity that reaches one in five of the world’s HIV positive women. It was wonderful to work with Annie Lennox, XIX and the amazing Kim Chappell of Chappel Productions once again.

As November drew to an end we were busy celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Royal Exchange as a luxury shopping centre with the Girly Show.
Finally, we’ve gotten up to a great deal in December. But if we tell you about just one thing, it has to be the fact we generated over 100 pieces of coverage this month for one client alone: Access Self Storage. Our ‘countdown to Christmas’ advent idea, revealing a room at a different Access Self Storage filled with toys donated for local children’s charities has been an out-of-this-world success. It even got Julien Macdonald to donate Fashion Barbies at his local store!

As the New Year approaches, we have two new wins to announce. One is the most exciting digital fashion launch for young women and the other is an iconic cartoon character that anyone who grew up in the 80’s will love and know. But that’s all we can say for now!

We are really looking forward to the next 12 months.

HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS!!!!

24 charity cyclists rallied together by NG Bailey building services were given a 6am send off by Access Self Storage in Kings Cross this morning, after the storage unit specially opened to allow them to collect their bikes for a 15 hour London to Brighton bike ride!

All cyclists are raising money for Richard House Children’s Hospice.

Alan Dawson of NG Bailey was full of praise for Access Self Storage, saying that the whole team ‘have raised the bar and exceeded our expectations’.

Nearly five hours in to their demanding mission, we wish all the cyclists lots of luck as they pedal their way to the coast!

Has anyone seen our Christmas presents?

Two days to go til Christmas and GGHQ is very delighted to see that our national survey for Access Self Storage has made its way in to O.K! Magazine online with more nationals and regionals set to follow!

Working with Access Self Storage, we revealed that 44% of the nation’s parents forget where they hide their Christmas gifts. 43% of parents said their laughable gift-hiding skills often ended up in children finding their presents way before the big day.

If you are worried about where or how to hide your Christmas presents, then Helen Brennan from Access Self Storage gives these tips!

1. Take more time to think about where to hide presents; avoid under beds and under stairs.

2. Send yourself an email reminder of what you’ve put where!

3. Store presents above children’s eye level; keeping them up high up means they are less. likely to come across them whilst rummaging for something else.

4. If you’ve got lots of presents to hide, share a storage unit with family or friends.

BBC Breakfast given access to all areas!

Since we placed a piece in the Sunday Times, regarding how storage is now being used as an extension to the home, the phones have not stopped ringing for GGPR client Access Self Storage.

For the last couple of weeks our storage team have been pulling out all the stops to satisfy the needs of BBC breakfast news; providing stats, facts, options, comment and case studies.

Aideen Donoghue is a 23 year old dancer who bends and stretches for up to four hours a day, in her 75 sq ft unit and ‘couch-surfer’, Ria Thomas, uses her 10sq ft unit as a wardrobe…complete with wardrobe boxes that you are able to hang your clothes in!

The result: a three-minute segment on this morning’s BBC Breakfast show, featuring two of GGPR’s storage case studies and the highest amount of brand visibility against their competitors, for Access Self Storage. At this rate Golden Goose will have to hire a 100sq ft unit to store all the coverage.

A NuBeginning for two boost-needing geese

Following a busy week securing some weighty pieces of coverage for our client, Access Self Storage (our Sunday Times piece led to coverage opportunities on Channel 5, ITV London and also in the Daily Mail), we decided it was time for a re-energising retreat. Two of the geese from the Access team were the lucky ones to be sent on a restorative adventure. Our mission: to get up close and personal with the newest addition to the Golden Goose PR health and fitness division, NuBeginnings.

A 5am start and 250 mile drive later, Laura Hind and Remy Le Fevre arrived at a 19th century Victorian mansion, set in beautiful Devonshire countryside and home to Nubeginnings; the detox, weight loss and wellbeing retreat that prides itself on changing the lives and bodies of its guests.

Created by expert mind mentor, Victoria Wills, Remy and Laura were in for a two day detox complete with extremely nutritious, organic, Devonshire home-reared meals; yoga, Pilates, hawk walks, hikes, circuit training, boxercise, hypnotherapy, NLP, deep tissue massage and a series of educational lectures – from the benefits of essential oils to designing your own fitness programme. A challenging affair to say the least, made easier in the encompassing rural scenery, complete with luxurious accommodation and chemical-free spa treats that the UK’s first boutique boot camp has to offer.

The experience was found to be uplifting and extremely enjoyable…if not a little exhausting. The exercise regime was intense – as you’d expect from the retreat that averages a weight loss of 8-10lbs from its guests. The fresh, organic food was tasty and purifying and the beds were divine; not even a blackberry could wake the geese from their slumber on this occasion.

On returning to the big smoke, Remy and Laura were euphoric and slim – if not a little aching – and raving about their experience to all their press contacts, with prospective press visits gained from The Press Association, Sunday Times Style, Now, The London Magazine, Greenmystyle, Psychologies, and Country Life. GGPR has also secured future coverage in Health and fitness, Reveal, Stylebible, reFRESH and the Times online.

This was an extremely promising start to one of our newest accouns…and on a personal level a much needed boost of minds, bodies and spirits that we couldn’t recommend enough.
